Every practice site says the same thing
Same six services, same order, same tone. The fee ends up the only visible difference, so the fee is what gets compared.
Practice websites that give a prospect something to judge you on other than the fee. Built for accountants, bookkeepers and tax advisers anywhere in the UK, from £470+VAT.
No obligation. A designer calls you back, not a salesperson.
The situation
None of this is about the accountancy. It is what happens when a site is built once and then left alone for four years.
Same six services, same order, same tone. The fee ends up the only visible difference, so the fee is what gets compared.
So enquiries arrive from the wrong size of client, and each one costs you an hour to decline politely.
Making Tax Digital and self assessment bring the same demand every year. No page is waiting for it.
They have a marketing budget, you have the better service. Only one is visible in a search result.
Portal and software links sit in the footer, so clients ring the office all week to ask where they are.
Construction industry scheme, ecommerce sellers, landlords, contractors. All buried in one page called Services.
What we build
Accountancy is a referred purchase and a compared one. Somebody is either checking you out after a recommendation or weighing up three firms. Both want the awkward questions answered before they get in touch, and neither wants to ring to find out roughly what it costs. So the first conversation is about which of these are worth building for your practice, and which are not.
What you get
Scope, not a promise about results. Every site we build shares the foundations listed here. Past that, nothing gets added because a brochure says it should be there.
Plenty of practices need four or five good pages, a clear fee band and a phone number that gets answered, and that is a perfectly good website. If that is you, we will build it and we will not talk you into more.
Tell us about your practiceIn every build, whatever the size
Laid out and written for your firm and the clients you want more of, never a template with your logo dropped into it.
People check an accountant on a phone, often in the evening after a bad conversation with HMRC. That is the layout we design first.
Page titles, headings, schema, sitemap and speed handled in the build, so the pages you do have can be found for the work you want.
Proper labels, readable contrast, keyboard navigation. It matters more when somebody is typing their income into a form.
You collect personal financial detail from the first click, so a working enquiry form, consent wording and a privacy policy are in from the start.
Professional body membership, practice licence and company details, shown where a prospect goes looking for them.
Registered to you and handed over at launch. Nothing is held back and nothing is rented to you afterwards.
Options, quoted separately
None of the following is inside the £470. We ask what you want a visitor to be able to do, then quote only the pieces that earn their keep. If booking or chat would sit unused in your practice, we would rather say so than sell them to you.
Anything you do pick is priced on its own line, so you can see it, question it, or leave it out.
Only if they suit your practice
Construction industry scheme, VAT and Making Tax Digital, contractors, landlords, ecommerce sellers. We would normally start with the two or three that bring in your best work, then quote further pages by the page.
Self assessment, Making Tax Digital and payroll dates, written in the quiet months rather than the week the phone starts. Worth it if you want that work, easy to leave out if you do not.
Bands, a starting figure or a from price per entity type written into a page costs nothing extra. A calculator that gives a range from turnover and entity type is a separate build, and only worth it if you would stand behind the number.
Entity type, turnover, year end and current software captured before you speak, so the first call is not a fact find. A straightforward enquiry form is already in the build, so this is for practices who want the longer version.
Linking out to the portal you already use costs nothing extra and sits in the build. A login area on your own site, where clients sign in and see something, is a separate piece of work and quoted as such.
A bookable slot for a first consultation, or a card payment for a one off return. Plenty of practices would rather people rang the office and spoke to somebody, and that is a perfectly reasonable answer.
Chat only makes sense if somebody is there to answer it in season. Integrations depend entirely on the software you run, so both are priced once we know what we are connecting to.
Pricing
What yours costs depends on how many pages you need and what you want them to do. One figure and one delivery date, in writing, before any work starts.
Starting at
That is where a small custom built practice site starts, not what every project costs. Between £470 and £1,000 you are looking at roughly four to eight pages, which is enough for most practices. A bigger one is quoted the same way: one number, agreed up front.
Options such as online booking, payments, a client login, a fee calculator or an integration sit outside that price and are quoted on their own, so the entry figure never quietly turns into something else.

Fee guidance is not a full price list. A starting figure, a band per service, or a from price per entity type is enough to stop the wrong enquiries reaching you. The real number stays on the call.
Yes, and it is usually the change that makes the most difference. Be realistic about the count though. At entry level we would give the two or three specialisms that bring in your best work a page each, and cover the rest properly on one services page. Construction industry scheme, VAT and Making Tax Digital, contractors, landlords, ecommerce sellers: any of them can have their own page. Further pages can be added later and they are quoted by the page.
The £470 to £1,000 range is roughly four to eight pages. For most practices that is a home page, an about page, two or three specialism pages and a contact page. If what you want needs more than that, it is in the quote before you commit rather than after.
No. Plenty of practices need four or five good pages, clear fee guidance and a phone number that gets answered, and that is a perfectly good website. Online booking, payments, live chat, calculators, client logins and integrations are options we quote only when you ask for them, and we will say plainly when we think one is not worth your money.
We link to whatever you already use, in the header and on a page of their own rather than the footer, and that is part of the build. We do not replace your portal or touch the practice management side. A login area on your own site, or an integration that moves data between systems, is separate work and quoted separately.
Most sites go live within two to four weeks of the go ahead, and the exact date is in the quote. Deadline pages work best written in the quiet months, ahead of the demand.
Fill this in and a designer calls you back within 48 hours with a fixed price and a delivery date. We will tell you if we are not the right fit.
